Greensboro Urban Ministry
Greensboro Urban Ministry engaged Elinvar in advance of the retirement of a long-standing Executive Director. The retiring leader had a strong brand in the community and the board was focused on ensuring a smooth transition for the staff and the community. Greensboro Urban Ministry has an operating budget in excess of $4 million and close to 50 employees.
Elinvar’s initial work involved an in-depth assessment of the organization, as well as the senior leadership team and board committees. The information we gathered during this first phase of work was used by the board to support the leadership team during the transition, by Elinvar to inform the search that would follow, and by the newly placed Executive Director to assist in a successful transition.
Elinvar launched the search in September 2014, provided the slate in January 2015, and placed the new leader in the time required to support the retiring executive. The Executive Director placed by Elinvar continues to serve in this role.
